Rap Dixon connected with a 'big fly' and had 4 RBI and Chet Brewer tossed a complete game as the Pittsburgh Crawfords bested the Kansas City Monarchs 7 to 2 at Comiskey Park.

Dixon had a big day at the plate. He ripped a base-knock plating two runs in the 3rd inning, cracked a two-run shot in the 7th inning, and hit a single in the 9th inning. Pittsburgh managed 14 hits in their victory.

Brewer(1-0) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. Dick Redding(0-1) took the loss. He allowed 12 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings.

Spoony Palm smacked 2 homeruns and Leon Day pitched a 3 hitter at Comiskey Park as the Homestead Grays lost a heartbreaker to Detroit Stars by the score of 2 to 1.

The game was won by Detroit when they scored a run in the bottom of the 9th inning. After two outs Palm lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' making Detroit the winner and sending the 22,580 fans home happy. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 7th inning.

The victory was credited to Day(1-0) who went the distance, allowing 1 run. Leroy Matlock(0-1) took the loss. He gave up 4 hits and 3 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.
